I owe it to my friends and family to keep on track and never take my foot off the brake.

One thing that’s for sure
Is the law of consequences
And the consequences of the law
For every action
There is a reaction
The push and pull of being
And foolish deeds
No matter how innocent
Can soon rob a man
Of his freedom
If life is chess
Then I was a novice
And my future game
Tempered in the fires of prison
Is as yet untested
So I tread carefully
Through the garden of life
Roses have thorns
And few things that glitter
Are truly gold
But a careful man
Can plot a course
To a kinder future
Be strong and have heart
The best days are yet to come
—
I fought the law and the law won.
I’m hoping that the good habits I’ve built and my game in general, stay with me and become a reservoir of strength and character that sees me navigate life better than the hopeless meandering I was guilty of prior to jail.
I feel the pull of various vices that could lead me to ruin; drugs, alcohol, bitterness, hyper ambition and all sorts of life traps so I tread carefully and try to keep my spirit strong and my mind clean.
I owe it to my friends and family to keep on track and never take my foot off the brake.
